Valencia Mar is reinforcing its commitment to women’s sports by hosting the World Championship of this class for the first time in Spanish waters. The event, co-organised with T10 Sailing Club, already has over 40 boats registered from countries around the world. Athletes from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, the United States, Cuba, Finland, Japan, France, Great Britain, Lithuania, Portugal, and Spain will compete in Valencia for the global title.

This championship is very significant for women’s sailing; we are very proud to welcome all these international athletes. This competition is a clear example that sailing is a sport for everyone, and from Valencia Mar, we want to send this message so that younger generations take up this sport.

The championship will begin on Tuesday, 3rd of October, with the measurement and weighing of the boats. The opening ceremony will take place the following day, and the competition will truly kick off on Thursday, 5th of October.

The event’s organising committee has planned a total of nine races, each lasting around an hour, and they won’t begin if the winds exceed 18 knots.

Among the participants, there are several local teams, including sailors like Laura Morata and Rosa Fururia, who are the current European champions of the class, ensuring the excitement!
