From November 24 to 26, Valencia Mar will host the international windsurfing regatta WINDSURFER VALENCIA MAR FESTIVAL, which is part of the National Windsurfer Circuit’s calendar.
Windsurfer boards are considered the “vintage” version of windsurfing and were first designed in 1967 by Jim Drake and Hoyle Schweitzer. The original design was a one-design that sold over 400,000 units, making it the largest class to date and spurring the popularity and massive growth of windsurfing. During the 70s and 80s, the Windsurfer class organised national and international events with very large fleets, which contributed to the worldwide popularity of amateur windsurfing. Last year’s Windsurfer regatta in Valencia Mar was a great success, with 70 entries from countries such as Italy, France, England, Sweden, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.
Valencia Mar has pledged its support to the Valencia Boat Show by sponsoring the event for four years in a row. The organisation eagerly anticipates the opportunity to reconnect with customers, suppliers, friends, and colleagues in the industry and share enjoyable experiences.
